Church on the Rock-New Haven is pleased to present this Blogcast site. (Note: This is not our church website. You can find us on the web by clicking our name in the first sentence).
A Blogcast is a combination of a "blog" and a "podcast."
A Blog is the shortened version of the term Web Log, a place where thoughts and ideas can be shared online. This one, aimed at the friends and family of Church on the Rock will evolve over time. But here's to small beginnings.
On the blog, I'll be the main author and hopefully provide stimulating insights concerning issues of the faith. Your own thoughts are welcome in the form of "comments" to my posts.
A Podcast is an audio presentation that can be listened to on your computer or downloaded for travel onto a portable MP3 device (e.g., IPOD). We'll be making sermons, information and even some music available on our podcasts. Here too, you will be able to respond with written "comments."
A BlogCast is a combination Blog and Podcast site. That's what this site will be. We'll have something for your eyes to read and for your ears to hear. We hope you'll find it all very edifying!
Wherever you see a bar with play and pause buttons, there is something there for you to listen to. Just hit play, sit back and enjoy.
To make it easier to find what you're looking for, you can pick out just the category you're looking for (e.g, Sermon Audios, or "Radio" show w/music) by clicking the desired item on category list on the right side of this page.
In posts where there is no "play bar" it's just a written message for your information or something that you might want to give some thought to.
If you'd like to know when I add any audio to this site, you can use iTunes to keep you posted. Here are the directions for adding Rock New Haven to your automatically updated podcasts.
1. Log on to ITUNES.
2. Hit the "Advanced" Button
3. Select "Subscribe to Podcast"
4. Cut and paste this URL in the space where you'll be prompted to input a URL:
http://cotrnh.audioblog.com/rss/cotr_podcast.xml
5. You're all set. Now each time you hit the update button for your podcasts, it will include anything new we've added to Rock New Haven!
6. Another alternative is to go to the iTunes Podcast link, Go to the Podcast Directory link at the bottom of the page and search for "Rock New Haven" You'll see our site listed. Simply hit the "subscribe" button and you're in!
